Material Treatment

Processing the alloys described requires a precise knowledge of their specific properties. As well as the usual metal forming and joining processes we have extensive experience with various different compound systems and adhesive technologies.

Mechanical processes for soft magnetic alloys: Overview of possible treatments

  • Turning
  • Milling
  • Welding
  • Grinding
  • Lapping
  • Sawing
  • Cold and hot rolling
  • Stamping
  • Eroding
  • LASER cutting and welding

The machining parameters however are alloy-specific and deviate significantly from the well-known parameters of standard carbon tool steels. With very few exceptions soft magnetic alloys need to undergo a magnetic annealing treatment.

SEKELS can supply all of the above mentioned mechanical processes, either directly or in close cooperation with partner companies. This enables us to produce even complicated and combined parts and systems from a broad selection of alloys. We have a detailed knowledge about the “quirks” of the different soft magnetic alloys and can provide advice concerning the suitable machining process, depending on shape, piece number and part-specific requirements.
